The Season of major film awards kicks off as usual with the Golden Globes. The nominations for the Music Categories of the 69th Golden Globes were announced on December 15th 2011, and the winners (in bold) were presented on January 15th 2012:

BAFTA Awards 2012 (for 2011 Films)

The BAFTA film nominations were confirmed on January 17th, and the winner was presented at the awards ceremony on Sunday February 12th 2011.

The BAFTA video game awards are a separate event held a few weeks after the film awards. The nominations in the original music category were confirmed earlier this year, and the winner was announced at the video game awards ceremony on Friday 16th March.
