Tàladh Chrìosda (Christ Child's Lullaby) arranged for Easy Piano

Tàladh Chrìosda is a traditional Scottish Gaelic Christmas Carol, the title translating as "Christ Child's Lullaby". Traditionally it is sung on Christmas Eve on the islands of Barra, South Uist, and Eriskay in the Outer Hebrides (also known as the Western Isles). It has been sung and recorded by a number of Gaelic-speaking folk singers and groups, in Scotland and in other countries especially those with historical Celtic connections. The lyrics (not shown here) were written by Ranald Rankin (1799-1862) who was a priest in Moidart in Scotland, who later emigrated to Australia. The melody is from a traditional Hebridean Waulking Song, sung by women when working cloth around a table. Like many folk songs you will find a range of melodic variations of the same basic melody as adapted by different singers.
