This is the most famous movement from Mozart's Horn Concertos. The 3rd movement or Rondo is a lively movement where Mozart goes back to the origins of the orchestral or "french" horn as an instrument previously used during hunting, and with the typical galloping tempo of a hunt. As an indication of the movement's fame here is a youtube video of the comedy duo Flanders and Swann singing a song about a horn based on Mozart's music. Our own video below illustrates the music with a piano roll animation, or below that you can play the mp3 file and see the sheet music score before downloading.
In addition to the solo horn, there are parts for 2 additional horns, 2 oboes, and all the strings expected in the string section of orchestral music. The parts for printing are for 2 Oboes, 2 Horns, Horn Solo, 1st Violins, 2nd Violins, Violas, Cellos and Basses (using the same part). Here is the Full Conductor's score.
We also have another version of this piece arranged by Andy Ralls for Horn and Piano for those horn players who don't have an orchestra to practice with but might be able to find a helpful pianist.
