This minuet and trio is Boccherini's most famous piece of music. Luigi Boccherini was a cellist who wrote a lot of concertos and sonatas for the cello. As well as many String Quartets he also wrote a huge number of String Quintets which are like the traditional String Quartet but with an extra cello. This Minuet and Trio is in the key of A but comes from a String Quintet in E Op.11 No.5.
