This music is the slow second movement (marked "Largo") of Winter from Antonio Vivaldi's Four Seasons. Like all of the Four Seasons, Winter is essentially a violin concerto scored for Violin and String Orchestra. Not everyone has an orchestra to practice with, so this version has been arranged for Violin and Piano with the well-known melody retained in the Violin, and the piano playing a version of the accompaniment.
