Suo Gan (Lull Song), a Traditional Welsh Lullaby - for Piano Solo

"Suo Gân" is a traditional Welsh Lullaby. In fact "Suo Gân" translates literally as "lull song". The song is at least 200 years old, and the lyrics were recorded by a Welsh folklorist called Robert Bryan. The song has been performed and recorded by many Welsh singers, and by numerous artists world-wide. It's most famous use was in Steven Spielberg's movie "Empire of the Sun" where it was used on the soundtrack by John Williams, and sung on screen by the young Christian Bale. On mfiles we present three instrumental versions. This one is for piano solo, there is one for Easy Piano and the third one is nominally for Flute and Piano although it can be played by other instruments.

For the piano version, sheet music and audio downloads are available using the left-hand menu, or you can scroll down to see other options. More Folk Tunes from various countries can be found in our article Folk Music and Songs.
