Franz Schubert : Ständchen (Serenade) - No.4 from Swan Song D.957

There are a few different works called Ständchen or Serenade. This one is no.4 from a collection of songs D.957 published shortly after the death of their composer Franz Schubert and called Schwanengesang (or Swan Song) by the publisher. The song is a popular one and many arrangements have been made for various instruments and combinations of instruments. The music on this page is the original song including vocal part and piano accompaniment. This version of the song is in D minor and suitable for Soprano or Tenor, but we have also included a slightly lower version in B minor which may be more comfortable for some voices. These alternative sheet music parts, midi file or mp3 file can be downloaded using the links in the left-hand menu, though note that these audio files use a clarinet sound to illustrate the song. Below you can play the mp3 file and see the sheet music before downloading. On mfiles we also have this piece as an instrumental for Flute (or other alternative instruments) and Piano, an arrangement by Mertz for Guitar Solo, and an arrangement for Piano Solo.
