Francisco Tárrega is often called "the father of classical guitar", and he composed many original guitar works in additional to transcribing many classical piano works for guitar. Among his compositions are many "preludios" (or preludes) for guitar and Lágrima (or Teardrop) is one of the few named preludes. Among other works by Tárrega is the famous Recuerdos de la Alhambra (Memories of the Alhambra).
