Johannes Brahms: Theme - St. Anthony Chorale Variations for Orchestra Op.56a

The "St. Anthony Chorale Variations" were originally called "Variations on a Theme by Haydn" but it is now known that Haydn didn't compose the Theme. Brahms created 2 versions of his set of variations: one for Two Pianos (Op.56b) and one for Orchestra (Op.56a), and this is the Theme only for the Orchestral version. The sheet music consists of the Orchestral Score, plus the instumental parts for 2 Flutes, 2 Oboes, 2 Clarinets in B-flat, 2 Bassoons, Contrabassoon, 2 Horns in B-flat, 2 Horns in E-flat, 2 Trumpets in B-flat, Cellos and Double-basses. Note that some other instruments used in later variations are quiet for the theme, so parts are not included for these. See below for video, mp3, midi and score image.

Other versions of this theme on mfiles include: Two Pianos (Brahm's Op.56b version), Piano Solo (Arrangement), and Trio (illustrated on Oboe, Clarinet & Bassoon, but with alternative parts suitable for other instruments).
