This canon (in the older sense of the word meaning a repeating ground bass with variations) is a well-known work with many arrangements available for a variety of ensembles. The original piece is part of Pachelbel's "Canon and Gigue in D" for 3 violins and Basso Continuo. This piano arrangement is a shortened and simplified version of the "Canon" part of this work. On mfiles we also have an arrangement of the same piece for four SATB recorders meaning Soprano (or Descant), Alto, Tenor and Bass Recorders.
