Music by Jim Paterson for Web animations and games
|
 |
Recent music by Jim Paterson has been to accompany web and mobile games designed by 4T2 Multimedia. The Comet Game site was launched for Christmas 2003 and features loads of amusing graphics and addictive gameplay as you help Santa to deliver parcels. Here are midi file versions of the music used to accompany the game (intended to be "Christmassy" and "Cheezy"):
Another game for the same company is available in Web and Mobile formats created for AIWA (now part of the Sony group) at the web-site Cosmic Boom. The music is used during the animated introduction, and if you manage to complete the game and get your name in the "heroes" list then you will see the game completed animation with more music. The music for these animations was adapted from a work called "Calypso Cocktail". Here are Sheet Music and Midi versions and you can download an MP3 file (size approx 2Mb) from SibeliusMusic:

The first public performance of Circus Ride and Sword and Sorcery was given by the Chamber Orchestra of Southern Maryland (or "Cosmic") in their Family Concert on 14th April 2002. Here is an MP3 version of their performance of Circus Ride and the score and parts for these works are available from the links below:
Here is a fun piece of Western "film music" for piano:

For our recent "Ragtime" theme, we wanted to show that anyone can have a go at composing in this relatively simple style:
In a similar vein but much easier to play are these two little pieces:

- Rock Hymn - rock variations on an original hymn
- Short Hymn - a hymn tune in traditional style
- Gospel Tune - an original gospel style tune
- Weird Xmas - a whacky Merry Christmas tune
